FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask first.

Product

What is ClockingCloud for?

Image and video generation. It is not a general-purpose GPU cloud, which is why it can tune every layer for those workloads and bill only for work done.

Do I pay when nothing is running?

No GPU charge. A scaled-to-zero or stopped instance holds no GPU. ClockingCloud Global Volumes are charged for the capacity you provision while they exist.

Can I use my own model?

Yes, on a Bare GPU. Start one with clockingcloud gpu up, SSH in, and download and run any Hugging Face model with your own stack. ClockingCloud provides the GPU and SSH. It does not install, serve or tune models you bring. Managed instances run only the open, Apache 2.0 models listed in Models.

Is my data used to train models?

The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern this. See Terms and Privacy.

CLI

Does the CLI update itself?

No. It tells you when a newer version exists and you upgrade with brew upgrade clockingcloud.

Is there a Windows version?

Not yet. Use WSL 2 and install as on Linux.

Can I script the CLI?

Yes. Use -o json, -q, --yes and the documented exit codes.

Billing

How do I add credit?

In the console under Billing. Pick a pack ($20 to $500) or a custom amount from $10 to $10,000.

Does credit expire?

See the Terms of Service for the credit policy, including expiry and refunds.

What if my balance hits zero mid-job?

Running instances stop and new requests fail with insufficient_credits. Nothing is deleted.
